The Tavern is Massaro & Kramer’s second opera tailored specifically to college students and young singers. With a singing cast of 7 women and 3 men, The Tavern tells the story of villagers in Anderhousen, a seaside town occupied by enemy forces from a neighboring nation. One by one, occupying soldiers stationed in Anderhousen have disappeared over the past year. Villagers insist the men have deserted. The ruthless Captain Pietre Krakos arrives to end the disappearances and bring those responsible to swift justice.
